Just as Jonah was a sign to the people of Nineveh, the Son of Man will be a sign to the people of today.

I am a warning sign—everything I have done, you will also do. And then you will know the LORD God has made these things happen.

One day the LORD told Jonah, the son of Amittai,

The LORD sent a big fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish for three days and three nights.

The LORD commanded the fish to vomit up Jonah on the shore. And it did.
