Then you will take a fire pan of live coals from the bronze altar, together with two handfuls of finely ground incense, into the most holy place.

Bezalel mixed the oil for dedication and the sweet-smelling spices for the incense.

Nadab and Abihu were two of Aaron's sons, but they disobeyed the LORD by burning incense to him on a fire pan, when they were not supposed to.

The next day the men placed incense and coals in their fire pans and stood with Moses and Aaron at the entrance to the sacred tent.

Then Moses told Aaron, “Grab your fire pan and fill it with hot coals from the altar. Put incense in it, then quickly take it to where the people are and offer it to the LORD, so they can be forgiven. The LORD is very angry, and people have already started dying!”

You teach God's laws to Israel, and at the place of worship you offer sacrifices and burn incense.

But Christ was sinless, and he offered himself as an eternal and spiritual sacrifice to God. That's why his blood is much more powerful and makes our consciences clear. Now we can serve the living God and no longer do things that lead to death.

However, only the high priest could go into the second part of the tent, and he went in only once a year. Each time he carried blood to offer for his sins and for any sins that the people had committed without meaning to.

But if we live in the light, as God does, we share in life with each other. And the blood of his Son Jesus washes all our sins away.

After this, the angel filled the incense container with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth. Thunder roared, lightning flashed, and the earth shook.
