You hated Israel so much that you clapped and shouted and celebrated.

Ezekiel, son of man, the people of the city of Tyre have celebrated Jerusalem's defeat by singing, “Jerusalem has fallen! It used to be powerful, a centre of trade. Now the city is shattered, and we will take its place.”

The LORD said: I will punish Edom for countless crimes, and I won't change my mind. They killed their own relatives and were so terribly furious that they showed no mercy.

The LORD God gave Obadiah a message about Edom, and this is what we heard: “I, the LORD, have sent a messenger with orders for the nations to attack Edom.”

Depart naked and ashamed, you people of Shaphir. The town of Bethezel mourns because no one from Zaanan went out to help.

Now you will be disgraced instead of praised. The LORD will make you drunk, and when others see you naked, you will lose their respect.

Remember that Christ says, “When I come, it will surprise you like a thief! But God will bless you, if you are awake and ready. Then you won't have to walk around naked and be ashamed.”
