Destructive and deceitful lies are told about me,

When evil people see this, they angrily bite their tongues and disappear. They will never get what they really want.

Many of them are pursuing and attacking me,

Everyone heard my groaning, but no one offered comfort. My enemies know of the trouble that you have brought on me, and it makes them glad. Hurry and punish them, as you have promised.

They ruined and crushed you from every side, and foreign nations captured and made fun of you.

Israel, you are ruined, and now the nations consider you worthless.

Zion, because of your sins you are surrounded by many nations who say, “We can hardly wait to see you disgraced.”

When the council members heard Stephen's speech, they were angry and furious.
