While Jacob and his family were travelling through Canaan, God terrified the people in the towns so much that no one dared bother them.

Then even those who are as brave as a lion will lose their courage. All Israel knows what a great warrior your father is and what brave soldiers he has.

Naaman and his officials went back to Elisha. Naaman stood in front of him and announced, “Now I know that the God of Israel is the only God in the whole world. Sir, would you please accept a gift from me?”

When our enemies in the surrounding nations learnt that the work was finished, they felt helpless, because they knew that our God had helped us rebuild the wall.

The LORD has kept the heavens for himself, but he has given the earth to us humans.

Now I know that the LORD is the greatest God, because he has rescued Israel from their arrogant enemies.”

I will terrify those nations and make your enemies so confused that they will run from you.

They commit hundreds of crimes and live to a ripe old age, in spite of the saying: Everyone who lives right and respects God will prosper,

This is a message about Egypt: The LORD comes to Egypt, riding swiftly on a cloud. The people are weak from fear. Their idols tremble as he approaches and says,

When Egypt hears about Tyre, it will tremble.

and with my power I created the earth, its people, and all animals. I decide who will rule the earth,

Nineveh is doomed! Destroyed! Her people tremble with fear; their faces turn pale.

Moses sent messengers from Israel's camp near Kadesh with this message for the king of Edom: We are Israelites, your own relatives, and we're sure you have heard the terrible things that have happened to us.

“Aaron, this is where you will die. You and Moses disobeyed me at Meribah, and so you will not enter the land I promised the Israelites.

Don't I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Why should you be jealous, if I want to be generous?”

No one will be able to stand up to you. The LORD will make everyone terrified of you, just as he promised.

Today I will start making all other nations afraid of you. They will tremble with fear when anyone mentions you, and they will be terrified when you appear.

Then everyone on earth will know that you belong to the LORD, and they will be afraid of you.

that God Most High gave land to every nation. He assigned a guardian angel to each of them,

Rahab had been a prostitute, but she had faith and welcomed the spies. So she wasn't killed with the people who disobeyed.

We know that the LORD your God rules heaven and earth, and we've lost our courage and our will to fight.

“We're sure the LORD has given us the whole country,” they said. “The people there shake with fear every time they think of us.”

Rahab went back up to her roof. The spies were still awake, so she told them:

The Amorite kings west of the River Jordan and the Canaanite kings along the Mediterranean Sea lost their courage and their will to fight, when they heard how the LORD had dried up the River Jordan to let Israel go across.

We are your servants, and we live far from here. We came because the LORD your God is so famous. We heard what the LORD did in Egypt

The other soldier answered, “Your dream must have been about Gideon, the Israelite commander. It means God will let him and his army defeat the Midianite army and everyone else in our camp.”
