Everyone who honours your name can trust you, because you are faithful to all who depend on you.

Jesus went back to Nazareth with his parents and obeyed them. His mother kept on thinking about all that had happened.

Nathanael asked, “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Philip answered, “Come and see.”

So why do you accuse me of a terrible sin for saying that I am the Son of God? After all, it is the Father who prepared me for this work. He is also the one who sent me into the world.

I don't speak on my own. I say only what the Father who sent me has told me to say.

Don't you believe that I am one with the Father and that the Father is one with me? What I say isn't said on my own. The Father who lives in me does these things.

I obey my Father, so that everyone in the world might know that I love him. It is time for us to go now.

They will do these things because they don't know either the Father or me.

Good Father, the people of this world don't know you. But I know you, and my followers know that you sent me.

Eternal life is to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent.

One night he went to Jesus and said, “Sir, we know that God has sent you to teach us. You could not perform these miracles, unless God were with you.”

But everyone who does believe him has shown that God is truthful.

But there is someone else who speaks for me, and I know what he says is true.

I have come with my Father's authority, and you have not welcomed me. But you will welcome people who come on their own.

They were asking each other, “Isn't he Jesus, the son of Joseph? Don't we know his father and mother? How can he say that he has come down from heaven?”

When the festival was about half over, Jesus went into the temple and started teaching.

Jesus replied: Even if I do speak for myself, what I say is true! I know where I came from and where I am going. But you don't know where I am from or where I am going.

If I did judge, I would judge fairly, because I would not be doing it alone. The Father who sent me is here with me.

“Where is your Father?” they asked. “You don't know me or my Father!” Jesus answered. “If you knew me, you would know my Father.”

There is a lot more I could say to condemn you. But the one who sent me is truthful, and I tell the people of this world only what I have heard from him.”

Jesus answered: If God were your Father, you would love me, because I came from God and only from him. He sent me. I did not come on my own.

We are sure that God spoke to Moses, but we don't even know where Jesus comes from.”

As I was going through your city and looking at the things you worship, I found an altar with the words, “To an Unknown God.” You worship this God, but you don't really know him. So I want to tell you about him.

Since these people refused even to think about God, he let their useless minds rule over them. That's why they do all sorts of indecent things.

No, indeed! God tells the truth, even if everyone else is a liar. The Scriptures say about God, “Your words will be proved true, and in court you will win your case.”

God can be trusted, and so can I, when I say that our answer to you has always been “Yes” and never “No”.

The Scriptures say, “God commanded light to shine in the dark.” Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ.

Then they will have the hope of eternal life that God promised long ago. And God never tells a lie!

God cannot tell lies! And so his promises and vows are two things that can never be changed. We have run to God for safety. Now his promises should greatly encourage us to take hold of the hope that is right in front of us.

If we have faith in God's Son, we have believed what God has said. But if we don't believe what God has said about his Son, it is the same as calling God a liar.

Eli's sons were priests, but they were dishonest and refused to obey the LORD. So, while people were boiling the meat from their sacrifices, these priests would send over a servant with a large, three-pronged fork.
