If I wanted to bring honour to myself, I would speak for myself. But I want to honour the one who sent me. That is why I tell the truth and not a lie.

I don't care about human praise,

We were not trying to get you or anyone else to praise us.

So Father, bring glory to yourself. A voice from heaven then said, “I have already brought glory to myself, and I will do it again!”

If you have the gift of speaking, preach God's message. If you have the gift of helping others, do it with the strength that God supplies. Everything should be done in a way that will bring honour to God because of Jesus Christ, who is glorious and powerful for ever. Amen.

You should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, help us to honour your name.

Don't eat too much honey or always want praise.

But Moses replied, “Are you concerned what this might do to me? I wish the LORD would give his Spirit to all his people so everyone could be a prophet.”

When Jesus heard this, he said, “His sickness won't end in death. It will bring glory to God and his Son.”

Jesus replied, “If I honoured myself, it would mean nothing. My Father is the one who honours me. You claim that he is your God,

And besides, the leaders liked praise from others more than they liked praise from God.

You know that Christ always does right and that everyone who does right is a child of God.
