After the people had seen Jesus perform this miracle, they began saying, “This must be the Prophet who is to come into the world!”

to ask Jesus, “Are you the one we should be looking for? Or must we wait for someone else?”

The crowd answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

“What do you mean?” Jesus asked. They answered: Those things that happened to Jesus from Nazareth. By what he did and said he showed that he was a powerful prophet, who pleased God and all the people.

Everyone was frightened and praised God. They said, “A great prophet is here with us! God has come to his people.”

Then when they asked him if he were Elijah, he said, “No, I am not!” And when they asked if he were the Prophet, he also said “No!”

“Yes, Lord!” she replied. “I believe that you are Christ, the Son of God. You are the one we hoped would come into the world.”

This was Jesus' first miracle, and he did it in the village of Cana in Galilee. There Jesus showed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

The woman said, “Sir, I can see that you are a prophet.

The woman said, “I know that the Messiah will come. He is the one we call Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”

They told the woman, “We no longer have faith in Jesus just because of what you told us. We have heard him ourselves, and we are certain that he is the Saviour of the world!”

A large crowd had seen him perform miracles to heal the sick, and those people went with him.

Jesus answered, “I tell you for certain that you are not looking for me because you saw the miracles, but because you ate all the food you wanted.

They replied, “What miracle will you perform, so that we can have faith in you? What will you do?

When the crowd heard Jesus say this, some of them said, “He must be the Prophet!”

Moses is the one who told the people of Israel, “God will choose one of your people to be a prophet, just as he chose me.”
