Jesus said this to tell how Peter would die and bring honour to God. Then he said to Peter, “Follow me!”

But my servant Caleb isn't like the others. So because he has faith in me, I will allow him to cross into Canaan, and his descendants will settle there.

And unless you are willing to take up your cross and come with me, you are not fit to be my disciples.

Jesus answered: Yes, all of you have become my followers. And so in the future world, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, I promise that you will sit on twelve thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

Jesus answered, “Come with me, and let the dead bury their dead.”

If you serve me, you must go with me. My servants will be with me wherever I am. If you serve me, my Father will honour you.

Jesus was talking about the way he would be put to death.

And so what Jesus said about his death would soon come true.

I tell you for certain that when you were a young man, you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will hold out your hands. Then others will tie your belt around you and lead you where you don't want to go.”

Jesus answered, “What is it to you, if I want him to live until I return? You must follow me.”

I honestly expect and hope that I will never do anything to be ashamed of. Whether I live or die, I always want to be as brave as I am now and bring honour to Christ.

And our Lord Jesus Christ has already told me that I will soon leave it behind.

Samuel answered: Even though what you did was wrong, you don't need to be afraid. But you must always follow the LORD and worship him with all your heart.
