The angels asked Mary, “Why are you crying?” She answered, “They have taken away my Lord's body! I don't know where they have put him.”

But I, the LORD, tell you to dry your tears. Some day your children will come home from the enemy's land. Then all you have done for them will be greatly rewarded. So don't lose hope. I, the LORD, have spoken.

Jesus asked them, “What were you talking about as you walked along?” The two of them stood there looking sad and gloomy.

When Jesus saw his mother and his favourite disciple with her, he said to his mother, “This man is now your son.”

Jesus replied, “Mother, my time hasn't yet come! You must not tell me what to do.”

Jesus asked her, “Why are you crying? Who are you looking for?” She thought he was the gardener and said, “Sir, if you have taken his body away, please tell me, so I can go and get him.”

She ran to Simon Peter and to Jesus' favourite disciple and said, “They have taken the Lord from the tomb! We don't know where they have put him.”

But Paul answered, “Why are you crying and breaking my heart? I am not only willing to be put in jail for the Lord Jesus. I am even willing to die for him in Jerusalem!”

So Elkanah asked, “Hannah, why are you crying? Why won't you eat? Why do you feel so bad? Don't I mean more to you than ten sons?”
