Don't you believe that I am one with the Father and that the Father is one with me? What I say isn't said on my own. The Father who lives in me does these things.

But anyone who doesn't love me, won't obey me. What they have heard me say doesn't really come from me, but from the Father who sent me.

I obey my Father, so that everyone in the world might know that I love him. It is time for us to go now.

Servants don't know what their master is doing, and so I don't speak to you as my servants. I speak to you as my friends, and I have told you everything that my Father has told me.

I told my followers what you told me, and they accepted it. They know that I came from you, and they believe that you are the one who sent me.

I tell you for certain that we know what we are talking about because we have seen it ourselves. But none of you will accept what we say.

He speaks about what he has seen and heard, and yet no one believes him.

Jesus told the people: I tell you for certain that the Son cannot do anything on his own. He can do only what he sees the Father doing, and he does exactly what he sees the Father do.

I cannot do anything on my own. The Father sent me, and he is the one who told me how to judge. I judge with fairness, because I obey him, and I don't just try to please myself.

Simon Peter answered, “Lord, there is no one else that we can go to! Your words give eternal life.

Jesus replied: I am not teaching something that I thought up. What I teach comes from the one who sent me.

There is a lot more I could say to condemn you. But the one who sent me is truthful, and I tell the people of this world only what I have heard from him.”

Jesus went on to say, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, you will know who I am. You will also know that I don't do anything on my own. I say only what my Father taught me.

Jesus answered: If God were your Father, you would love me, because I came from God and only from him. He sent me. I did not come on my own.

So when I want to speak to them, I will choose one of them to be a prophet like you. I will give my message to that prophet, who will tell the people exactly what I have said.

This is what God showed to Jesus Christ, so that he could tell his servants what must happen soon. Christ then sent his angel with the message to his servant John.
