Abraham answered, “I am nothing more than the dust of the earth. Please forgive me, LORD, for daring to speak to you like this.

The LORD God took a handful of soil and made a man. God breathed life into the man, and the man started breathing.

and his glorious splendour would make you terrified.

Be quiet while I speak, then say what you will.

They are gone and forgotten,

But empty, meaningless words are the comfort you offer me.

Humans are formed from clay and are fragile as moths, so what chance do you have?

Our LORD, you are King for ever and will always be famous.

Don't let the LORD forget the sins of his family, or let anyone remember his family ever lived.

But God despises evil people, and he will wipe them all from the earth, till they are forgotten.

Afterwards, the LORD said to Moses, “Write an account of this victory and read it to Joshua. I want the Amalekites to be forgotten for ever.”

Good people are remembered long after they are gone, but the wicked are soon forgotten.

Those enemies are now dead and can never live again. You have punished them— they are destroyed, completely forgotten.

Our bodies are like tents that we live in here on earth. But when these tents are destroyed, we know that God will give each of us a place to live. These homes will not be buildings that someone has made, but they are in heaven and will last for ever.
