Jeremiah, don't pray for these people or beg me to rescue them. If you do, I won't listen, and I certainly won't listen if they pray!

The LORD said to me: Even if Moses and Samuel were here, praying with you, I wouldn't change my mind. So send the people of Judah away.

I tried to help them, but they are paying me back by digging a pit to trap me. I even begged you not to punish them.

Do you see what the people of Judah are doing in their towns and in the streets of Jerusalem?

Some day you will beg the LORD to help you, but he will turn away because of your sins.

So don't try to stop me! I am going to wipe them out, and no one on earth will remember they ever lived. Then I will let your descendants become an even bigger and more powerful nation than Israel.

Suppose you see one of our people commit a sin that isn't a deadly sin. You can pray, and that person will be given eternal life. But the sin must not be one that is deadly.
