The next day the elder daughter said to her sister, “I slept with my father last night. We'll get him drunk again tonight, so you can go to bed with him, and we can each have a child.”

Now take my people to the place I told you about, and my angel will lead you. But when the time comes, I will punish them for this sin.”

If you keep being stubborn after many warnings, you will suddenly discover you have gone too far.

How will you escape being captured or killed? The Lord is still angry, and he isn't through with you yet!

The look on your faces shows that you are sinful as Sodom, and you don't try to hide it. You are in for trouble, and you have brought it all on yourselves.

Those lying prophets say there will be peace and plenty of food. But I say that those same prophets will die from war and hunger.

You know they plan to kill me. So get angry and punish them! Don't ever forgive their terrible crimes.

Now I will punish you with disaster, and you will slip and fall in the darkness. I, the LORD, have spoken.

So I, the LORD, refused to let the spring rains fall. But just like a prostitute, you still have no shame for what you have done.

Even now, your pride keeps you from respecting me and obeying the laws and teachings I gave you and your ancestors.

You need to be punished, and so I will take revenge.

Why shouldn't I punish the people of Judah?

They should be ashamed of their disgusting sins, but they don't even blush. And so, when I punish Judah, they will end up on the ground, dead like everyone else.

Your wise men have rejected what I say, and so they have no wisdom. Now they will be trapped and put to shame; they won't know what to do.

The lying prophets have tried to cover-up the evil in Jerusalem, but I will tear down the city, all the way to its foundations. And when it collapses, those prophets will be killed, and everyone will know that I have done these things.

They are stubborn and hard-headed. But I, the LORD God, have chosen you to tell them what I say.

The people of Jerusalem murdered innocent people in the city and didn't even try to cover-up the blood that flowed out on the hard ground.

You and the prophets will stumble day and night; I'll silence your mothers.

Israel, the time has come. You will get what you deserve, and you will know it. “Prophets are fools,” you say. “And God's messengers are mad.” Your terrible guilt has filled you with hatred.

“You will live in the dark, far from the sight of the sun, with no message from me.

The most honest of them is worse than a thorn patch. Your doom has come! Lookouts sound the warning, and everyone panics.

You disgraceful nation, gather around,

All who do evil are shameless, but the LORD does right and is always fair. With the dawn of each day, God brings about justice.

Those prophets will be ashamed of their so called visions, and they won't deceive anyone by dressing like a true prophet.

Stay away from those Pharisees! They are like blind people leading other blind people, and all of them will fall into a ditch.”

that they are headed for hell! They worship their stomachs and boast about the disgusting things they do. All they can think about are the things of this world.
