Israel, don't be afraid. Some day I will bring you home from foreign lands. You and your descendants will live in peace and safety, with nothing to fear.

The LORD will set you free from your sorrow, suffering, and slavery.

Descendants of Jacob, I, the LORD, created you and formed your nation. Israel, don't be afraid. I have rescued you. I have called you by name; now you belong to me.

Don't be afraid! I am with you. From both east and west I will bring you together.

People of Israel, I have chosen you as my servant.

I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born. Israel, don't be terrified! You are my chosen servant, my very favourite.

As long as he is king, Israel will have peace, and Judah will be safe. The name of this king will be “The LORD Gives Justice”.

and accept your worship. Then I will gather you from all the nations where I scattered you, and you will return to Jerusalem.

I am angry with the people of Jerusalem, and I will scatter them in foreign countries. But some day I will bring them back here and let them live in safety.

In those days, Judah will be safe; Jerusalem will have peace and will be named, “The LORD Gives Justice”.

But I will bring Israel back to its own land. The people will be like sheep eating their fill on Mount Carmel and in Bashan, in the hill country of Ephraim and in Gilead.

Don't be afraid or lose hope, though year after year there are rumours of leaders fighting for control in the city of Babylon.

Some day I will bless Sodom and Samaria and their nearby villages. I will also bless you, Jerusalem.

I will gather you from the foreign nations and bring you home.

Now I will show mercy to the people of Israel and bring them back from the nations where they are living. They are Jacob's descendants, so I will bless them and show that I am holy.

I'll make Israel prosper again. You will rebuild your towns and live in them. You will drink wine from your own vineyards and eat the fruit you grow.
