Jerusalem, your land has been wiped out. But you act like a prostitute and try to win back your lovers, who now hate you. You can put on a red dress, gold jewellery, and eye shadow, but it's no use— your lovers are out to kill you!

Jehu headed towards Jezreel, and when Jezebel heard he was coming, she put on eye shadow and brushed her hair. Then she stood at the window, waiting for him to arrive.

Don't let yourself be attracted by the charm and lovely eyes of someone like that.

Prophets give their messages in the name of a false god, my priests don't want to serve me, and you—my own people— like it this way! But on the day of disaster, where will you turn for help?

I called out to my lovers, but they betrayed me. My priests and my leaders died while searching the city for scraps of food.

Each night, bitter tears flood her cheeks. None of her former lovers are there to offer comfort; her friends have betrayed her and are now her enemies.

Our eyes became weary, hopelessly looking for help from a nation that could not save us.

When you face your enemies, will you still claim to be a god? They will attack, and you will suffer like any other human.

Your allies can't be trusted. They will force you out of your own country. Your best friends will trick and trap you, even before you know it.

So if we refuse this great way of being saved, how can we hope to escape? The Lord himself was the first to tell about it, and people who heard the message proved to us that it was true.

They all think alike and will give their power and authority to the beast.
