I will give this land to Israel and Judah once again, and I will make them as strong as they were before.

It seemed like a dream when the LORD brought us back to the city of Zion.

Our LORD, we ask you to bless our people again, and let us be like streams in the Southern Desert.

I long for someone from Zion to come and save Israel! Our LORD, when you bless your people again, Jacob's family will be glad, and Israel will celebrate.

Our LORD, you have blessed your land and made all go well for Jacob's descendants.

Jerusalem, I will choose judges and advisers like those you had before. Your new name will be “Justice and Faithfulness”.

Everyone on guard duty, sing and celebrate! Look! You can see the LORD returning to Zion.

I will bring the rest of my people home from the lands where I have scattered them, and they will grow into a mighty nation.

where I am watching over them. Then some day I will bring them back to this land. I will plant them, instead of uprooting them, and I will build them up, rather than tearing them down.

The LORD said: Israel, I will be kind to you and let you come home. Jerusalem now lies in ruins, but you will rebuild it, complete with a new palace.

It will be just like old times. Your nation will worship me, and I will punish anyone who abuses you.

Some day I will let my people from both Israel and Judah return to the land I gave their ancestors.”

In the past, I took care to uproot them, to tear them down, and to destroy them. But when that day comes, I will take care to plant them and help them grow.

The LORD said: Some day, Jerusalem will truly belong to me. It will be rebuilt with a boundary line running from Hananel Tower to Corner Gate.

You are precious to me, and so I will rebuild your nation. Once again you will dance for joy and play your tambourines.

But some day, people will again spend their silver to buy fields everywhere—in the territory of Benjamin, the region around Jerusalem and the towns of Judah, and in the hill country, the foothills to the west, and the Southern Desert. Buyers and sellers and witnesses will sign and seal the bills of sale for the fields. It will happen, because I will give this land back to my people. I, the LORD, have spoken.

happy voices and the sounds of parties and wedding celebrations. And when people come to my temple to offer sacrifices to thank me, you will hear them say: “We praise you, LORD All-Powerful! You are good to us, and your love never fails.” The land will once again be productive.

In the same way, I will never reject the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob or break my promise that they will always have a descendant of David as their king. I will be kind to my people Israel, and they will be successful again.

I am sorry that I had to punish you, and so I now tell you to stay here in Judah, where I will plant you and build you up, instead of tearing you down and uprooting you.

The LORD said: People of Israel and Judah, when these things happen you will weep, and together you will return to your land and worship me, the LORD your God.

The people of Zion have paid for their sins, and the Lord will soon let them return home. But, people of Edom, you will be punished, and your sins exposed.

Now I will show mercy to the people of Israel and bring them back from the nations where they are living. They are Jacob's descendants, so I will bless them and show that I am holy.

I will return your vineyards, and then Trouble Valley will become Hopeful Valley. You will say “Yes” to me as you did in your youth, when leaving Egypt.

I will lead you home, and with your own eyes you will see me bless you with all you once owned. Then you will be famous everywhere on this earth. I, the LORD, have spoken!

I also promise that my towns will prosper—Jerusalem will once again be my chosen city, and I will comfort the people of Zion.
