You will lose the land that I gave you, and I will make you slaves in a foreign country, because you have made my anger blaze up like a fire that won't stop burning.

I will no longer let my people Israel live in this land I gave them. I will desert this temple where I said I would be worshipped. Then people everywhere will think this nation is only a joke and will make fun of it.

But when they were at peace, they would turn against you, and you would hand them over to their enemies. Then they would beg for help, and because you are merciful, you rescued them over and over again.

The LORD will set you free from your sorrow, suffering, and slavery.

Long ago the LORD got a place ready for burning the body of the dead king. The place for the fire is deep and wide, the wood is piled high, and the LORD will start the fire by breathing out flaming sulphur.

You are the LORD's people, but you made him terribly angry, and he struck you with his mighty arm. Mountains shook, and dead bodies covered the streets like rubbish. The LORD is still angry, and he is ready to strike you again.

Go ahead and walk in the light of the fires you have lit. But with his own hand, the LORD will punish you and make you suffer.

My people will go out and look at the dead bodies of those who turned against me. The worms there never die, the fire never stops burning, and the sight of those bodies will be disgusting to everyone.

I loved my people and chose them as my very own. But now I will reject them and hand them over to their enemies.

My anger is a fire that cannot be put out, so I will make you slaves of your enemies in a foreign land.

So I will throw you into a land that you and your ancestors know nothing about, a place where you will have to worship other gods both day and night. And I won't feel the least bit sorry for you.

You know they plan to kill me. So get angry and punish them! Don't ever forgive their terrible crimes.

People of Israel, you weren't born slaves; you were captured in war.

Jehoiachin, you are unwanted like a broken clay pot. So you and your children will be thrown into a country you know nothing about.

And the people who survive will ask, “Why did the LORD our God do such terrible things to us?” Then tell them: I am the LORD, but you abandoned me and worshipped other gods in your own land. Now you will be slaves in a foreign country.

You need to be punished, and so I will take revenge.

And now, I, the LORD All-Powerful, will flood Judah with my fiery anger until nothing is left—no people or animals, no trees or crops.

No passer-by even cares. Why doesn't someone notice my terrible sufferings? You were fiercely angry, LORD, and you punished me worst of all.

Foreigners and strangers have taken our land and our homes.

My furious anger will scorch you like fire, and I will hand you over to cruel men who are experts in killing.

so I will tell the most wicked nations to come and take over your homes. They will put an end to the pride you have in your strong army, and they will make your places of worship unfit to use.

The LORD will let you be defeated by your enemies, and you will scatter in all directions. You will be a horrible sight for the other nations to see,
