You're our only hope; you alone can save us now. You help us one day, but you're gone the next.

Why are you far away, LORD? Why do you hide yourself when I am in trouble?

I am surrounded by trouble, but you protect me against my angry enemies. With your own powerful arm you keep me safe.

God is our mighty fortress, always ready to help in times of trouble.

And so, we won't be afraid! Let the earth tremble and the mountains tumble into the deepest sea.

Pray to me in time of trouble. I will rescue you, and you will honour me.

I depend on you, and I have trusted you since I was young.

The poor can run to you because you are a fortress in times of trouble.

When you are in trouble, call out to me. I will answer and be there to protect and honour you.

Please, LORD, be kind to us! We depend on you. Make us strong each morning, and come to save us when we are in trouble.

People of Israel, your God is a mystery, though he alone can save.

You are a spring of water giving Israel life and hope. But if the people reject what you have told me, they will be swept away like words written in dust.

My people, soon you will suffer worse than ever before, but I will save you.

I am your true pasture land, the one who gave hope to your ancestors. But you abandoned me, so when your enemies found you, they felt no guilt as they gobbled you up.

From the heart of Jerusalem the LORD roars like a lion, shaking the earth and sky. But the LORD is a fortress, a place of safety for his people Israel.

and offer you hope. Return to your fortress, because today I will reward you with twice what you had.

I am bound by these chains because of what we people of Israel hope for. That's why I have called you here to talk about this hope of ours.
