Once you were like an olive tree covered with fruit. But soon I will send a noisy mob to break off your branches and set you on fire.

Sinful people are like plants with spreading roots and plenty of sun and water.

But I am like an olive tree growing in God's house, and I can count on his love for ever and ever.

Enemies chopped the vine down and set it on fire. Now show your anger and destroy them.

But help the one who sits at your right side, the one you raised to be your own.

Your hateful enemies are turning against you and rebelling.

When broken branches fall to the ground, women pick them up to feed the fire. But these people are so stupid that the God who created them will show them no mercy.

You were a choice grapevine, but now you produce nothing but small, rotten grapes.

and I will punish you as you deserve. I'll set your palace on fire, and everything around you will go up in smoke.

And now, I, the LORD All-Powerful, will flood Judah with my fiery anger until nothing is left—no people or animals, no trees or crops.

Your branches will spread with the beauty of an olive tree and with the aroma of Lebanon Forest.

An axe is ready to cut the trees down at their roots. Any tree that doesn't produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into a fire.

If you don't stay joined to me, you will be thrown away. You will be like dry branches that are gathered up and burnt in a fire.

Even if your olive trees grow everywhere in your country, the olives will fall off before they are ready, and there won't be enough olive oil for combing your hair.

These two witnesses are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand in the presence of the Lord who rules the earth.
