Then the LORD told me to say to the people of Judah: You are my chosen people, but you have no right to be here in my temple, doing such terrible things. The sacrifices you offer me won't protect you from disaster, so stop celebrating.

But to the wicked I say: “You don't have the right to mention my laws or claim to keep our agreement!

Answer our prayers! Use your powerful arm and give us victory. Then the people you love will be safe.

Fools enjoy doing wrong, but anyone with good sense enjoys acting wisely.

The LORD is disgusted by gifts from the wicked, but it makes him happy when his people pray.

The LORD said to me: Even if Moses and Samuel were here, praying with you, I wouldn't change my mind. So send the people of Judah away.

to go to Jerusalem and tell everyone that he had said: When you were my young bride, you loved me and followed me through the barren desert.

The LORD told me to say: You prophets and priests think so little of me, the LORD, that you even sin in my own temple!

When the king went in to meet the guests, he found that one of them wasn't wearing the right kind of clothes for the wedding.

The man saw Jesus and screamed. He knelt down in front of him and shouted, “Jesus, Son of God in heaven, what do you want with me? I beg you not to torture me!”

The people of Israel are treated as God's enemies, so that the good news can come to you Gentiles. But they are still the chosen ones, and God loves them because of their famous ancestors.

Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil.

Everything is pure for someone whose heart is pure. But nothing is pure for an unbeliever with a dirty mind. That person's mind and conscience are destroyed.

Yet you are stupid enough to boast, and it is wrong to be so proud.
