In the year that King Uzziah died, I had a vision of the LORD. He was on his throne high above, and his robe filled the temple.

Micaiah replied: Listen to this! I also saw the LORD seated on his throne with every creature in heaven gathered around him.

I am Isaiah, the son of Amoz. And this is the message that I was given about Judah and Jerusalem when Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were the kings of Judah:

At that time you will say, “Our LORD, we are thankful, and we worship only you. We will tell the nations how glorious you are and what you have done.

Our holy God lives for ever in the highest heavens, and this is what he says: Though I live high above in the holy place, I am here to help those who are humble and depend only on me.

The LORD said: Heaven is my throne; the earth is my footstool. What kind of house could you build for me? In what place will I rest?

I am Ezekiel—a priest and the son of Buzi. Five years after King Jehoiachin of Judah had been led away as a prisoner to Babylonia, I was living near the River Chebar among those who had been taken there with him. Then on the fifth day of the fourth month of the thirtieth year, the heavens suddenly opened. The LORD placed his hand upon me and showed me some visions.

I saw the dome that was above the four winged creatures, and on it was the sapphire throne.

and the brightness of the LORD's glory moved from above the creatures and stopped at the entrance of the temple. The entire temple was filled with his glory, and the courtyard was dazzling bright.

I am merely your servant. How can I possibly speak with someone so powerful, when I am almost too weak to get my breath?”

Thrones were set up while I was watching, and the Eternal God took his place. His clothing and his hair were white as snow. His throne was a blazing fire with fiery wheels,

He sees me face to face, and everything I say to him is perfectly clear. You have no right to criticize my servant Moses.”

When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all his angels, he will sit on his royal throne.

No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is truly God and is closest to the Father, has shown us what God is like.

Isaiah said this, because he saw the glory of Jesus and spoke about him.

Only God lives for ever! And he lives in light that no one can come near. No human has ever seen God or ever can see him. God will be honoured, and his power will last for ever. Amen.

The temple quickly filled with smoke from the glory and power of God. No one could enter it until the seven angels had finished pouring out the seven last troubles.

I saw a great white throne with someone sitting on it. Earth and heaven tried to run away, but there was nowhere for them to go.

Everyone who wins the victory will sit with me on my throne, just as I won the victory and sat with my Father on his throne.

At the same time the twenty-four elders knelt down before the one sitting on the throne. And as they worshipped the one who lives for ever, they placed their crowns in front of the throne and said,

At once the Spirit took control of me, and there in heaven I saw a throne and someone sitting on it.

The one who was sitting there sparkled like precious stones of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow that looked like an emerald surrounded the throne.

The living creatures kept praising, honouring, and thanking the one who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever.

In the right hand of the one sitting on the throne I saw a scroll that had writing on the inside and on the outside. And it was sealed in seven places.

The Lamb went over and took the scroll from the right hand of the one who sat on the throne.

Then they shouted to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us! Hide us from the one who sits on the throne and from the anger of the Lamb.
