But Jesus did not answer. So the high priest said, “With the living God looking on, you must tell the truth. Tell us, are you the Messiah, the Son of God?”

Although he was abused, he never tried to get even. And when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he had faith in God, who judges fairly.

But Jesus kept quiet and did not say a word. The high priest asked him another question, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the glorious God?”

He went back inside and asked Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus did not answer.

Herod asked him a lot of questions, but Jesus did not answer.

But Jesus did not answer, and Pilate was amazed.

The next day, John saw Jesus coming towards him and said: Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Then I looked and saw a Lamb standing in the centre of the throne that was surrounded by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb looked as if it had once been killed. It had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God, sent out to all the earth.

We face death all day for you. We are like sheep on their way to be slaughtered.

All of us were like sheep that had wandered off. We had each gone our own way, but the LORD gave him the punishment we deserved.

I am completely deaf and can't make a sound.

I trust you, LORD God, and you will do something.

I let them beat my back and pull out my beard. I didn't turn aside when they insulted me and spat in my face.
