I have ruled this way, and God will never break his promise to me. God's promise is complete and unchanging; he will always help me and give me what I hope for.

Now I, the LORD God of Israel, will destroy both Jerusalem and Judah! People will hear about it but won't believe it.

You will ask the way to Zion and then come and join with me in making an agreement you won't break or forget.

Jerusalem, you deserve to be punished, because you broke your promises and ignored our agreement.

But the Israelites rebelled against me in the desert. They refused to obey my laws and teachings, and they treated the Sabbath like any other day. Then in my anger, I decided to destroy the Israelites in the desert once and for all.

because they had disobeyed my laws and ignored my teachings; they had disgraced my Sabbath and worshipped the idols their ancestors had made.

I solemnly promise to bless the people of Israel with unending peace. I will protect them and let them become a powerful nation. My temple will stand in Israel for all time,

and rejected your teachings that came to us from your servants the prophets.

But we have sinned terribly by rebelling against you and rejecting your laws and teachings.

At a place named Adam, you betrayed me by breaking our agreement.

Obey my laws and teachings. Or else the land I am giving you will become sick of you and throw you out.

Get out of here, you crooks! You'll find no rest here. You're not fit to belong to the LORD's people, and you will be destroyed.

Both of them were good people and pleased the Lord God by obeying all that he had commanded.

Israel, you grew fat and rebelled against God, your Creator; you rejected the Mighty Rock, your only place of safety.
