Adonijah's guests shook with fear when they heard this news, and they left as fast as they could.

Haman added, “That's not all! Besides the king himself, I'm the only person Queen Esther invited for dinner. She has also invited the king and me to dinner tomorrow.

I am trembling with fear, completely terrified.

I wish I had wings like a dove, so I could fly far away and be at peace.

That same night, the king was killed.

Suddenly a human hand was seen writing on the plaster wall of the palace. The hand was just behind the lampstand, and the king could see it writing.

They are like drunkards overcome by wine, or like dry thorn bushes burning in a fire.

Each morning you will wake up to such terrible sights that you will say, “I wish it were night!” But at night you will be terrified and say, “I wish it were day!”

The LORD was like an eagle teaching its young to fly, always ready to swoop down and catch them on its back.
