Egypt sends messengers up the River Nile on ships made of reeds. Send them fast to Ethiopia, whose people are tall and have smooth skin. Their land is divided by rivers; they are strong and brutal, feared all over the world.

Zerah from Ethiopia led an army of a million soldiers and three hundred chariots to the town of Mareshah in Judah.

Remember how powerful the Ethiopian and Libyan army was, with all their chariots and cavalry troops! You trusted the LORD to help you then, and you defeated them.

Each day passes swifter than a sailing ship or an eagle swooping down.

The LORD God gave Obadiah a message about Edom, and this is what we heard: “I, the LORD, have sent a messenger with orders for the nations to attack Edom.”

How fearsome and frightening. Their only laws and rules are the ones they make up.

I have given you the power to trample on snakes and scorpions and to defeat the power of your enemy Satan. Nothing can harm you.
