This is the message that I was given about Babylon:

The city of Babylon is glorious and powerful, the pride of the nation. But it will be like the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah after I, the Lord, destroyed them.

Instead I will give it to your brutal enemies, who treated you like dirt and walked all over you.”

You will be built on fairness with no fears of injustice; every one of your worries will be taken far from you.

You have broken the power of those who abused and enslaved your people. You have rescued them just as you saved your people from Midian.

I will punish them with a terrible disaster, and everyone on earth will tremble when they hear about it. I will force the people of Judah to go to foreign countries, where they will be cursed and insulted.

I will order the nearby nations to mourn for you and say, “Isn't it sad? Moab ruled others, but now its glorious power has been shattered.”
