You gave a signal to those who worship you, so they could escape from enemy arrows.

Today the enemy will camp at Nob and shake a threatening fist at Mount Zion in Jerusalem.

He will give a signal to the nations, and he will bring together the refugees from Judah and Israel, who have been scattered all over the earth.

The Lord will dry up the arm of the Red Sea near Egypt, and he will send a scorching wind to divide the River Euphrates into seven streams that anyone can step across.

Everyone on this earth, listen with care! A signal will be given on the mountains, and you will hear a trumpet.

When the LORD All-Powerful punishes Egypt with his mighty arm, the Egyptians will become terribly weak and will tremble with fear.

Their fortress will fall when terror strikes; their army officers will be frightened and run from the battle. This is what the LORD has said, the LORD whose fiery furnace is built on Mount Zion.

The LORD has signalled for the foreign nations to come and attack you. He has already whistled, and they are coming as fast as they can.

Far to the north, a nation and its allies have been awakened. They are powerful and ready for war.

Raise the signal flag and attack the city walls. Post more guards. Command soldiers to watch the city and set up ambushes. I have made plans to destroy Babylon, and nothing will stop me.

You destroyed the nations and seem strong as a mountain, but I am your enemy. I might even grab you and roll you off a cliff. When I have finished, you'll only be a pile of scorched bricks.

The thick walls of that city will be torn down, and its huge gates burnt. Everything that nation worked so hard to gain will go up in smoke.
