If you scatter wind instead of wheat, you will harvest a whirlwind and have no wheat. Even if you harvest grain, enemies will steal it all.

Then seven other heads of grain came up. They were thin and scorched by a wind from the desert.

They don't seem to realize how weak and feeble they are; their hair has turned grey, while foreigners rule.

Israel, you are a vine with dried up roots and fruitless branches. Even if you had more children and loved them dearly, I would slaughter them all.

The LORD is powerful, yet patient; he makes sure that the guilty are always punished. He can be seen in storms and in whirlwinds; clouds are the dust from his feet.

You harvest less than you plant, you never have enough to eat or drink, your clothes don't keep you warm, and your wages are stored in bags full of holes.

You cannot fool God, so don't make a fool of yourself! You will harvest what you plant.

If you follow your selfish desires, you will harvest destruction, but if you follow the Spirit, you will harvest eternal life.

You will work hard on your farms, but everything you harvest will be eaten by foreigners, who will ill-treat you and abuse you for the rest of your life.
