The LORD says, “Children, I didn't divorce your mother or sell you to pay debts; I divorced her and sold you because of your sins.

There will be more widows in Judah than grains of sand on a beach. A surprise attack at midday! And the mothers in Jerusalem mourn for their children.

When I think of the prophets, I am shocked, and I tremble like someone drunk, because of the LORD and his sacred words.

The LORD All-Powerful says: When that time comes, I will get rid of every idol in the country, and they will be forgotten for ever. I will also do away with their prophets and those evil spirits that control them.

But our mother is the city of Jerusalem in heaven above, and she isn't a slave.
