Storks, doves, swallows, and thrushes all know when it's time to fly away for the winter and when to come back. But you, my people, don't know what I demand.

The LORD answered, “The people of Israel and Judah have done horrible things. Their country is filled with murderers, and Jerusalem itself is filled with violence. They think that I have deserted them, and that I can't see what they are doing.

Israel, you break treaties and don't keep promises; you turn justice into poisonous weeds where healthy plants should grow.

I am the LORD, and I know your terrible sins. You cheat honest people and take bribes; you rob the poor of justice.

You people are doomed! You twist the truth and trample on justice.

You are good at rejecting God's commands so that you can follow your own teachings!

Is there one prophet that your ancestors didn't ill-treat? They killed the prophets who told about the coming of the One Who Obeys God. And now you have turned against him and killed him.

As Stephen was being stoned to death, he called out, “Lord Jesus, please welcome me!”

Do we destroy the Law by our faith? Not at all! We make it even more powerful.
