Joseph turned away from them and cried, but soon he turned back and spoke to them again. Then he had Simeon tied up and taken away while they watched.

Three days later the men who had been circumcised were still weak from pain. So Simeon and Levi, two of Dinah's brothers, attacked with their swords and killed every man in town,

They did not know that Joseph could understand them, since he was speaking through an interpreter.

When you go in to see the governor, I pray that God All-Powerful will be good to you and that the governor will let your other brother and Benjamin come back home with you. If I must lose my children, I suppose I must.

“It's all right,” the servant replied. “Don't worry. The God you and your father worship must have put the money there, because I received your payment in full.” Then he brought Simeon out to them.

Straight away he rushed off to his room and cried because of his love for Benjamin.

Since Joseph could no longer control his feelings in front of his servants, he sent them out of the room. When he was alone with his brothers, he told them, “I am Joseph.”

Then he cried so loudly that the Egyptians heard him and told about it in the king's palace.

It troubled the LORD to see them in trouble, and his angel saved them. The LORD was truly merciful, so he rescued his people. He took them in his arms and carried them all those years.

When Jesus came closer and could see Jerusalem, he cried

When others are happy, be happy with them, and when they are sad, be sad.

If one part of our body hurts, we hurt all over. If one part of our body is honoured, the whole body will be happy.

Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. But he did not sin!
