Genesis 28:4

May he bless you with the land he gave Abraham, so that you will take over this land where we now live as foreigners.

but the LORD appeared to Abram and promised, “I will give this land to your family for ever.” Abram then built an altar there for the LORD.

Abram asked, “LORD God, how can I know the land will be mine?”

Isaac started trembling and said, “Then who brought me some wild meat just before you came in? I ate it and gave him a blessing that cannot be taken back.”

Jacob lived in the land of Canaan, where his father Isaac had lived,

We are only foreigners living here on earth for a while, just as our ancestors were. And we will soon be gone, like a shadow that suddenly disappears.

“Listen, LORD, to my prayer! My eyes are flooded with tears, as I pray to you. I am merely a stranger visiting your home as my ancestors did.

May the glory of the king shine brightly for ever like the sun in the sky. Let him make nations prosper and learn to praise him.

I made an agreement and promised them the land of Canaan, where they were living as foreigners.

And because of what Jesus Christ has done, the blessing that was promised to Abraham was taken to the Gentiles. This happened so that by faith we would be given the promised Holy Spirit.

Long ago the Scriptures said that God would accept the Gentiles because of their faith. That's why God told Abraham the good news that all nations would be blessed because of him.

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the spiritual blessings that Christ has brought us from heaven!
