Abraham's servant went home with Laban, where Laban's servants unloaded his camels and gave them straw and feed. Then they brought water into the house, so Abraham's servant and his men could wash their feet.

The servant explained: I am Abraham's servant.

If you do your job well, you will work for a ruler and never be a slave.

Work hard at whatever you do. You will soon go to the world of the dead, where no one works or thinks or reasons or knows anything.

But no one who drinks the water I give will ever be thirsty again. The water I give is like a flowing fountain that gives eternal life.”

If any of you slaves have owners who are followers, you should show them respect. After all, they are also followers of Christ, and he loves them. So you should serve and help them the best you can. These are the things you must teach and tell the people to do.

The old man brought them into his house and fed their donkeys. Then he and his guests washed their feet and began eating and drinking.
