Abraham bowed with his face to the ground and thought, “I am almost a hundred years old. How can I become a father? And Sarah is ninety. How can she have a child?” So he started laughing.

The LORD asked Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Does she doubt that she can have a child in her old age?

The time came when Sarah no longer had to nurse Isaac, and on that day Abraham gave a big feast.

Hadad and his wife had a son named Genubath, and the queen let the boy grow up in the palace with her own children.

Who ever heard of such a thing or imagined it could happen? Can a nation be born in a day or come to life in a second? Jerusalem is like a mother who gave birth to her children as soon as she was in labour.

Put a curse on the man who told my father, “Good news! You have a son.”

No magic charms can work against them— just look what God has done for his people.

Then God would use the church to show the powers and authorities in the spiritual world that he has many different kinds of wisdom.

This will happen on that day when the Lord returns to be praised and honoured by all who have faith in him and belong to him. This includes you, because you believed what we said.
