The king was good to Abram because of Sarai, and Abram was given sheep, cattle, donkeys, slaves, and camels.

At this time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were living in the same area, and so there wasn't enough pasture land left for Abram and Lot with all their animals. Besides this, the men who took care of Abram's animals and the ones who took care of Lot's animals started quarrelling.

Abraham was now a very old man. The LORD had made him rich, and he was successful in everything he did.

The LORD has been good to my master and has made him very rich. He has given him many sheep, goats, cattle, camels, and donkeys, as well as a lot of silver and gold, and many slaves.

In fact, the Philistines were jealous of the large number of sheep, goats, and slaves that Isaac owned,

Jacob soon became rich and successful. He owned many sheep, goats, camels, and donkeys, as well as a lot of slaves.

“You are like a wall protecting not only him, but his entire family and all his property. You make him successful in whatever he does, and his flocks and herds are everywhere.

He owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred pair of oxen, five hundred donkeys, and a large number of servants. He was the richest person in the East.

When the LORD blesses you with riches, you have nothing to regret.

But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.

Instead, remember that the LORD your God gives you the strength to make a living. That's how he keeps the promise he made to your ancestors.

As the saying goes, “Exercise is good for your body, but religion helps you in every way. It promises life now and for ever.” These words are worthwhile and should not be forgotten.

Our LORD, you are the one who makes us rich or poor. You put some in high positions and bring disgrace on others.
