The LORD told Moses, “Stretch your arm towards Egypt. Swarms of locusts will come and eat everything left by the hail.”
God gave the command, and more grasshoppers came than could be counted.
The ground was black with locusts, and they ate everything left on the trees and in the fields. Nothing green remained in Egypt—not a tree or a plant.
Moses, then command Aaron to hold his stick over the water. And when he does, every drop of water in Egypt will turn into blood, including rivers, canals, ponds, and even the water in buckets and jars.
But the wheat crops ripen later, and they were not damaged.
Locusts came out of the smoke and covered the earth. They were given the same power that scorpions have.
