If you promised God that you would be loyal to the king, I advise you to keep that promise.

You have disobeyed me and have broken the promise you made to the LORD.

Remind your people to obey the rulers and authorities and not to be rebellious. They must always be ready to do something helpful

My children, you must respect the LORD and the king, and you must not make friends with anyone who rebels against either of them.

Every official and every soldier, as well as all David's other sons, were loyal to him.

David had made a promise to Jonathan with the LORD as his witness, so he spared Jonathan's son Mephibosheth, the grandson of Saul.

If you swear with me as your witness that you did not harm the animal, you do not have to replace it. Your word is enough.
