Just as iron sharpens iron, friends sharpen the minds of each other.

The LORD God said, “It isn't good for the man to live alone. I need to make a suitable partner for him.”

Then he called together his twelve apostles and sent them out two by two with power over evil spirits.

This job is too much for me. How can I take care of all these people by myself?

Even now the harvest workers are receiving their reward by gathering a harvest that brings eternal life. Then everyone who planted the seed and everyone who harvests the crop will celebrate together.

While they were worshipping the Lord and going without eating, the Holy Spirit told them, “Appoint Barnabas and Saul to do the work for which I have chosen them.”

I pray that the LORD God of Israel will reward you for what you have done. And now that you have come to him for protection, I pray that he will bless you.”

So the LORD God All-Powerful made everyone eager to work on his temple, especially Zerubbabel and Joshua.

So be sure not to lose what we have worked for. If you do, you won't be given your full reward.

For example, some people don't have friends or family. But they are never satisfied with what they own, and they never stop working to get more. They should ask themselves, “Why am I always working to have more? Who will get what I leave behind?” What a senseless and miserable life!

If you fall, your friend can help you up. But if you fall without having a friend nearby, you are really in trouble.

Joab told his brother, “If the Syrians are too much for me to handle, come and help me. And if the Ammonites are too strong for you, I'll come and help you.
