A father and a mother may have a stubborn and rebellious son who refuses to obey them even after he has been punished.

Respect your father and your mother, honour the Sabbath, and don't make idols or images. I am the LORD your God.

If you cheat your parents and don't think it's wrong, you are a common thief.

All children are foolish, but firm correction will make them change.

Don't be a fool and disobey your parents. Be clever! Accept correction.

If you love your children, you will correct them; if you don't love them, you won't correct them.

My child, obey the teachings of your parents,

I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I'll see that he is corrected, just as children are corrected by their parents.

So keep in mind that the LORD has been correcting you, just as parents correct their children.

If any of you priests has a daughter who disgraces you by serving as a temple prostitute, she must be burnt to death.

Death is the punishment for cursing your father or mother.

Death is the punishment for attacking your father or mother.

If a son is like that, his parents must drag him to the town gate, where the leaders of the town hold their meetings.

He knew that his sons refused to respect me, and he let them get away with it, even though I said I would punish his family for ever.

You stubborn people have rebelled and turned your backs on me.
