It was covered with leaves and heavy with fruit— enough for all nations. Wild animals enjoyed its shade, birds nested in its branches, and all creatures on earth lived on its fruit.

When a tree is chopped down, there is always the hope that it will sprout again.

but at the touch of water, fresh twigs shoot up.

The LORD's chosen leader was our hope for survival! We thought he would keep us safe somewhere among the nations, but even he was caught in one of their traps.

Those people who found protection in its shade will also be sent to the world below, where they will join the dead.

and shouted: ‘Chop down the tree and cut off its branches; strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Make the animals leave its shade and send the birds flying from its branches.

Although it is the smallest of all seeds, it grows larger than any garden plant and becomes a tree. Birds even come and nest on its branches.

No one knows the day or the time. The angels in heaven don't know, and the Son himself doesn't know. Only the Father knows.

But once it is planted, it grows larger than any garden plant. It even puts out branches that are big enough for birds to nest in its shade.

It is like what happens when someone plants a mustard seed in a garden. The seed grows as big as a tree, and birds nest in its branches.”
