Solomon, my son, worship God and obey him with all your heart and mind, just as I have done. He knows all your thoughts and your reasons for doing things, and so if you turn to him, he will hear your prayers. But if you ignore him, he will reject you for ever.

Then I looked things over and told the leaders, the officials, and the rest of the people, “Don't be afraid of your enemies! The Lord is great and fearsome. So think of him and fight for your relatives and children, your wives and homes!”

Everyone who honours your name can trust you, because you are faithful to all who depend on you.

Dishonest witnesses and liars won't escape punishment.

Watch out for anyone who tells lies and flatters— they are out to get you.

The successor of this king of the north will be a worthless nobody, who doesn't come from a royal family. He will suddenly appear and gain control of the kingdom by treachery.

They will receive only a little help in their time of trouble, and many of their followers will be treacherous.

I'll strengthen my people because of who I am, and they will follow me. I, the LORD, have spoken!

But for you who honour my name, victory will shine like the sun with healing in its rays, and you will jump around like calves at play.

Eternal life is to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent.

We know that Jesus Christ the Son of God has come and has shown us the true God. And because of Jesus, we now belong to the true God who gives eternal life.

Then each of those who had been killed was given a white robe and told to rest for a little while. They had to wait until the complete number of the Lord's other servants and followers would be killed.
