I dried up your grain fields; your gardens and vineyards turned brown. Locusts ate your fig trees and olive orchards, but even then you rejected me. I, the LORD, have spoken!

Why be punished more? Why not give up your sin? Your head is badly bruised, and you are weak all over.

Go ahead and walk in the light of the fires you have lit. But with his own hand, the LORD will punish you and make you suffer.

Swarm after swarm of locusts has attacked our crops, eating everything in sight.

Our grapevines and fig trees are stripped bare; only naked branches remain.

I, the LORD your God, will make up for the losses caused by those swarms and swarms of locusts I sent to attack you.

I, the LORD, took away the food from every town and village, but still you rejected me.

People from two or three towns would go to a town that still had water, but it wasn't enough. Even then you rejected me. I, the LORD, have spoken!

Fig trees may no longer bloom, or vineyards produce grapes; olive trees may be fruitless, and harvest time a failure; sheep pens may be empty, and cattle stalls vacant—

I made all your hard work useless by sending mildew, mould, and hail—but you still did not return to me, your LORD.

I will also stop locusts from destroying your crops and keeping your vineyards from producing.

Locusts will eat your crops and strip your trees of leaves and fruit.
