I worship you, LORD, just as my mother did, and you have rescued me from the chains of death.

Sinners are trapped and caught by their own evil deeds.

So you had better stop sneering or you will be in worse shape than ever before. I heard the LORD All-Powerful threaten the whole country with destruction.

I'll tell you what it really means to worship the LORD. Remove the chains of prisoners who are chained unjustly. Free those who are abused!

“People of Judah, your hearts will be in pain, but it's your own fault that you will be punished.”

So I, the LORD All-Powerful, the God of Israel, promise them poison to eat and drink.

Just thinking of my troubles and my lonely wandering makes me miserable.

He attacked and surrounded me with hardships and trouble;

Jesus replied: I tell you for certain that anyone who sins is a slave of sin!

Stop being bitter and angry with others. Don't yell at one another or curse each other or ever be rude.

We used to be stupid, disobedient, and foolish, as well as slaves of all sorts of desires and pleasures. We were evil and jealous. Everyone hated us, and we hated everyone.

Make sure that no one misses out on God's wonderful kindness. Don't let anyone become bitter and cause trouble for the rest of you.

They promise freedom to everyone. But they are merely slaves of filthy living, because people are slaves of whatever controls them.

God did not have pity on the angels that sinned. He had them tied up and thrown into the dark pits of hell until the time of judgment.
