God said to Abraham, “Every son in each family must be circumcised to show that you have kept your agreement with me.” So when Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him. Later, Isaac circumcised his son Jacob, and Jacob circumcised his twelve sons.

The LORD knew that Jacob loved Rachel more than he did Leah, and so he gave children to Leah, but not to Rachel.

Moses commanded you to circumcise your sons. But it wasn't really Moses who gave you this command. It was your ancestors, and even on the Sabbath you circumcise your sons

My friends, it is right for me to speak to you about our ancestor David. He died and was buried, and his tomb is still here.

But when did this happen? Was it before or after Abraham was circumcised? Of course, it was before.

My friends, I will use an everyday example to explain what I mean. Once someone agrees to something, no one else can change or cancel the agreement.

What I am saying is that the Law cannot change or cancel God's promise that was made 430 years before the Law was given.

Notice how great Melchizedek is! Our famous ancestor Abraham gave him a tenth of what he had taken from his enemies.
