Then Abraham left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After his father died, Abraham came and settled in this land where you now live.

The LORD said to Abram, “I brought you here from Ur in Chaldea, and I gave you this land.”

Who appointed this ruler from the east? Who puts nations and kings in his power? His sword and his arrows turn them to dust blown by the wind.

From far across the earth I brought you here and said, “You are my chosen servant. I haven't forgotten you.”
