Naaman was the commander of the Syrian army. The LORD had helped him and his troops defeat their enemies, so the king of Syria respected Naaman very much. Naaman was a brave soldier, but he had leprosy.

When they were in Egypt, they paid no attention to your marvellous deeds or your wonderful love. And they turned against you at the Red Sea.

Moses looked around to see if anyone was watching, then he killed the Egyptian and hid his body in the sand.

In fact, all I will talk about is how Christ let me speak and work, so that the Gentiles would obey him.

But God was kind! He made me what I am, and his wonderful kindness wasn't wasted. I worked much harder than any of the other apostles, although it was really God's kindness at work and not me.

Apollos and I work together for God, and you are God's garden and God's building.

We work together with God, and we beg you to make good use of God's kindness to you.

That's why I work so hard and use the mighty power he gives me.

“We came here to tie you up and turn you over to them,” said the men of Judah. “I won't put up a fight,” Samson answered, “but you have to promise not to hurt me yourselves.”

“No!” the soldiers shouted. “God helped Jonathan win the battle for us. We won't let you kill him. We swear to the LORD that we won't let you kill him or even lay a hand on him!” So the army kept Saul from killing Jonathan.
