These men were brought to the apostles. Then the apostles prayed and placed their hands on the men to show that they had been chosen to do this work.

Before Moses died, he had placed his hands on Joshua, and the LORD had given Joshua wisdom. The Israelites paid attention to what Joshua said and obeyed the commands that the LORD had given Moses.

Use the gift you were given when the prophets spoke and the group of church leaders blessed you by placing their hands on you.

Don't be too quick to accept people into the service of the Lord by placing your hands on them. Don't sin because others do, but stay close to God.

So I ask you to make full use of the gift that God gave you when I placed my hands on you. Use it well.

And we shouldn't need to keep teaching about baptisms or about the laying on of hands or about people being raised from death and the future judgment.
