Lord, listen to their threats! We are your servants. So make us brave enough to speak your message.

Shout the message! Don't hold back. Say to my people Israel: You've sinned! You've turned against the LORD.

Please, LORD, look down from your holy and glorious home in the heavens and see what's going on. Have you lost interest? Where is your power? Show that you care about us and have mercy!

until the LORD looks down from heaven and helps.

Our LORD, don't forget how we have suffered and been disgraced.

Don't be afraid of them or of anything they say. You may think you're in the middle of thorn bushes or scorpions. But be brave

Please show mercy to your chosen city, not because we deserve it, but because of your great kindness.

But the LORD has filled me with power and his Spirit. I have been given the courage to speak about justice and to tell you people of Israel that you have sinned.

But Paul and Barnabas bravely said: We had to tell God's message to you before we told it to anyone else. But you rejected the message! This proves that you don't deserve eternal life. Now we are going to the Gentiles.

Paul and Barnabas stayed there for a while, having faith in the Lord and bravely speaking his message. The Lord gave them the power to perform miracles and wonders, and he showed that their message about his great kindness was true.

For three months Paul went to the Jewish meeting place and talked bravely with the people about God's kingdom. He tried to win them over,

None of these things happened off in a corner somewhere. I am sure that King Agrippa knows what I am talking about. That's why I can speak so plainly to him.”

He bravely preached about God's kingdom and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ, and no one tried to stop him.

The officials were amazed to see how brave Peter and John were, and they knew that these two apostles were only ordinary men and not well educated. The officials were certain that these men had been with Jesus.

The officials could not find any reason to punish Peter and John. So they threatened them and let them go. The man who was healed by this miracle was more than forty years old, and everyone was praising God for what had happened.

After they had prayed, the meeting place shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and bravely spoke God's message.

Then Barnabas helped him by taking him to the apostles. He explained how Saul had seen the Lord and how the Lord had spoken to him. Barnabas also said that when Saul was in Damascus, he had spoken bravely in the name of Jesus.

Saul moved about freely with the followers in Jerusalem and told everyone about the Lord.

When we speak languages that others don't know, we should pray for the power to explain what we mean.

This wonderful hope makes us feel like speaking freely.

Now most of the Lord's followers have become brave and are fearlessly telling the message.

As you remember, we had been ill-treated and insulted at Philippi. But God gave us the courage to tell you the good news about him, even though many people caused us trouble.

But the Lord stood beside me. He gave me the strength to tell his full message, so that all Gentiles would hear it. And I was kept safe from hungry lions.
