God raised Jesus from death and will never let his body decay. It is just as God said, “I will make to you the same holy promise that I made to David.”

I have ruled this way, and God will never break his promise to me. God's promise is complete and unchanging; he will always help me and give me what I hope for.

Pay close attention! Come to me and live. I will promise you the eternal love and loyalty that I promised David.

Then you will be my servants, and I will choose a king for you from the family of David.

In the same way, I will never reject the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob or break my promise that they will always have a descendant of David as their king. I will be kind to my people Israel, and they will be successful again.

But later, Israel will turn back to the LORD their God and to David their king. At that time they will come to the LORD with fear and trembling, and he will be good to them.

In the future, I will rebuild David's fallen kingdom. I will build it from its ruins and set it up again, just as it used to be.

I, the LORD God, will protect Jerusalem. Even the weakest person there will be as strong as David, and David's kingdom will rule as though my very own angel were its leader.

But God raised him from death!

that he has kept this promise to us. It is just as the second Psalm says about Jesus, “You are my son because today I have become your Father.”

But God raised Jesus from death, and his body did not decay.

But God set him free from death and raised him to life. Death could not hold him in its power.

We know that death no longer has any power over Christ. He died and was raised to life, never again to die.
